Mumbles coop

What an amazing day today. We have had the most beautiful day at The Co Op Store, Mumbles. The customers were as always very generous and more than welcoming to the team. The weather was fantasic too, which really brought the shoppers out.  So my thanks go to Andy Cox, Don Minett, Roger Vaughan Woods, Phil Isaac, Michelle Grant, Jonathan Griffiths, Jonathan Baker, Sian Everett, Darren Potter, Kevin Williams, David Wright and Beverly Melnyk Jones for making it a VERY special collection. Together we collected £536.35 today, which is the most we have ever raised at this store. So well done everyone, thank you. And we'll be there again tomorrow!

2011 - a summary

E-mail Print PDF

OK people, let me put you in the picture.

In Feb 2011 we had our first BB/W meeting, since then we have gone from strength to strength, we got our charity status, we have bought 3 bikes, paid for insurance, paid for public liability insurance, bought wrist bands, bugs etc, bought a drum kit for the BB/W band, bought an exhaust system for one of the bikes, we have a mini moto, we have a trail bike..., we have a bike trailer and we have a nice a bank account to start off 2012. Most important of all we have a team of dedicated, enthusiastic members, sponsors and supporters who have made all this happen.

So if someone told me we would have all this within 10 months I would be hard pushed to believe them.

This my friends is all down to YOU ALL, I've always been told I'm a dreamer - but dreams do and will come true.

Here is wishing you all a VERY VERY merry christmas and a Happy new year.

Bring on 2012.

Thank you,

Chris (Chair).

Welcome to Blood Bikes Wales

altWe are an enthusiastic group of people keen to make a difference. Most of us are bikers and we aim to use our skills, time and enthusiasm to help the medical system in Wales by carrying items between facilities out of hours.

The NHS needs to carry a large number of items between hospitals 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. During the day they use their own system of drivers and vehicles. Between 7pm and 7am during the week and 24 hours over the weekend and on bank holidays their system stops. During these times the NHS in Wales uses the police, the ambulance service, taxis and couriers to carry blood, samples, documents and many other items between hospitals. This is where Blood Bikes Wales comes in.

Our service saves lives. We are also incredibly good value for money: each pound we receive will save the NHS at least five pounds.

If you would like to donate to our cause or become one of our sponsors, please use our Contact Us page. If you like what we do, use the Share This buttons on the left.

We are a member of the Nationwide Association of Blood Bikes who support us and our sister charities in our quest to provide a reliable, good value and high quality service to health institutions throughout the country.

If you'd like to join, click 'Contact Us' on the left. Our meetings are being rearranged into areas to keep travelling costs down. Details will be posted on the Events calendar. Until then use the Contact Us page to let us know you're interested and we'll contact you as soon as your area meeting has been arranged. If you know of any good meeting venues in your area (preferably free) please let us know.
